, a New England startup, came out of stealth with a USD 38 million seed round led by Point72 Ventures, with Balerion Space Ventures, Harpoon Ventures, DCVC and Marlinspike taking part. It plans to build what it calls an undersea logistics layer: ultra-large uncrewed submarines that carry standard shipping-container payloads.

Axios reports the first vehicle is due to be unveiled next year. The company declined to give specifications, including how the vehicle would be launched, and says payloads are the customers' choice, which could mean sensors, supplies or weapons. It plans to double its staff over the next year.
