Gecko Robotics unveiled its Raptor wall-climbing robot at Adipec in Abu Dhabi and is deploying a new generation of such robots across facilities of the energy company Adnoc, including under a new agreement with Adnoc Onshore. The robot uses sensors and sound waves to find structural faults without taking plants offline.

The company says Raptor is three to five times faster than its predecessor and up to 50 times faster than competitors' robots, and that it signed a USD 300 million agreement with the last week. The speed and contract figures are the company's statements to The National and are not independently confirmed.
