Shipbuilder is building 10 unmanned surface vessels for the in Louisiana, marking construction of the first vessel on 28 October, Defence Industry Europe reported on 29 October. The order sits under the Navy's Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel program and follows a Navy-monitored evaluation in which the vessel's autonomous control system completed a simulated 420-nautical-mile mission. The vessels move the Navy from experimentation toward fleet deployment of medium unmanned ships.
