France's defence procurement agency has placed an initial order for the vertical-takeoff version of the shipborne drone, announced on 29 October, after trials in 2024 and 2025. The sought the new version to deploy the drone from smaller host vessels; according to the navy, it can be launched in sea conditions that previously would have prevented a safe net recovery, and pre-flight preparation takes a few minutes. The catapult-launched has flown from French patrol vessels and frigates since 2019.
