Three autonomous delivery robots are moving supplies through 's Durham hospital, WUNC reports. The pilot is intended to reduce the time clinical and supply teams spend fetching items.
Each robot has three secure compartments opened by staff badge scans. The machines can open doors, use lifts and press floor buttons. This is transport support inside the hospital, not autonomous patient care.
WUNC says the duration of the pilot is unclear. The report does not establish measured time savings or clinical outcomes.
