Kyiv equipment maker developed the , a pocket-sized receiver that uses a software-defined radio to sweep frequencies from 500 megahertz to 8.7 gigahertz and convert Russian drone signals into live video, Defense News reports. It adds little weight to an operator's kit and can be updated in software for new drone types.
The developers told the Ukrainian outlet DOU on 17 October that it has no blind spots in its range and is more sensitive than competing detectors. Those claims are the makers' own and were not independently tested. It is a passive sensor, so it gives off no signal that could reveal a unit's position.
